Daffodils ‘Make Life More Beautiful’
Since 1990, daffodils have blossomed all over Julian, thanks to the efforts of volunteers under the direction of resident Sally Snipes.
Inspired by her late father, who sought to “Make life more beautiful,” by planting and watering trees in his own hometown, Snipes decided to request donations from local community members so she could plant daffodil bulbs in the flowerbeds at Julian Town Hall.
With an unexpectedly large influx of donations, she was able to accomplish this and more, eventually leading to the creation of the annual Daffodil Show.
The 15th Annual Daffodil Show will take place Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24, from noon to 5 p.m., at Julian Town Hall, 2129 Main St. For updates, visit the “Julian Daffodils” page on Facebook.
American Daffodil Society experts will be on hand to answer questions, and guests can view flowers submitted for competition. Art from local students will also be on display.
With more than 1,000 entries expected, the free event is sure to please those who enjoy nature’s beautiful blossoms.
